Unseen Beauty of FATA (Razmak)

Few days back, a friend of mine sent me few pics of Razmak. He has been there for the last one year. Being a curious soul, I used to ask him about the area and finally he send me these pics. The valley of Razmak is located in the west of Lakki Marwat and Bannu.

This area had been under control of TTP in the start. But then Pakistan Army carried out operation and cleared the area. This is fruit rich, lush green, cool and bewitching place on earth. Even Queen Elizbeth visited it and still there is a vacation resort here in her name.

If we are able to restore peace and normal life practices here, and promote tourism in this area, It can be a worthy source of income for us. Plus it can add to the positive image building of Pakistan all over the world. Long Live Pakistan.

All Time Best Juggat(جگت ) Collection

Today I was not in a mood to write something on my blog. This was due to certain reasons like I was busy, no new topics were at my mind and I was not in a rutine to write on blog. But while going through facebook ststus updates, Suddenly came across such a Jugatti status that I could not stop myself from laughing and writing this for you people.

Juggat (جگت ) is a Punjabi word which means any word, phrase or sentence which creates pun and brings smiles on the gloomy faces. It always gets itss origin from our social inequalities and then it acts as a reminder for our social streamliners to take a break and look at what all has been there due to the inequalities.

Happy Birthday Facebook!!!

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg never knew he was going to be a millionare at the age of just 23. Even when he launched facebook from his dormitory room, he never had an idea what ripples it was going to create in the social media networking world, and facebook did it. It toppled up the Orkat, and all other social media platforms, finally ended up in the end of Google backed dominence in social media. 

According to latest facebook statistics available, Europe is leading in the facebook subscribers, Asia going second with a very less margin. It has become the most visited page on the internet and left google far behind here. And has achieved all the milestones Mark Zuckberg never knew or expected. It has turned into a culture, a life style, passion and much more. 

Today is the 7th birthday of facebook. I congratulate Zuckberg and all his team on achieving all such goals. They have moved the masses. This can be termed as a perfect success story full of adventures, hardships, self determination,opinion controlling, creation of concept of social space and much more. The ideas are the crucks, and facebook story is the perfect example of how one turns his idea into practicality and fnally success comes in the way. 

Currently Pakistan is 28th on the facebook users table. It has been most popular trend in the youth of Pakistan. Everyone seems facebook addict. If it is kept as a hobby within the prescribed limits of social networking, its something positive. But we have moved it a bit up. Here I want to quote an incident which I came across few days before when we were in Sialkot Saddar bazar. I saw a young lad of just 8 yrs fighting with his elder brother at the shop. The thing which had moved this innocent mind was facebook account. The young lad had the demand of getting a facebook account and finally his elder brother had to signup for a new facebook account on behalf of his younger brother. 

Guys! I have been unable to build any relation between the positivities and negativities of using facebook and being addicted to it. So I leave it to you. But onething I would mention i.e. just give a thought when you enter the second hour of using facebook in a single go and think if you could spend this time in something positive which could pay you in any way.

Natsumi Hayashi: A woman who seems defying Gravity in every shot

In the morning, I was just surfing the internet when I came across a marvelous photographer who belongs to Tokyo, Japan. She is named Natsumi. I was so impressed by her shots that I am writing here for her. This is what she wrote about her on her own blog.

Lives in Tokyo with two cats.
Photographs mainly levitating self-portraits (and cats not levitating).
yowayowa is a Japanese term meaning "weak" or "feeble."
Since I'm yowayowa, it's really heavy to carry SLR cameras around.

The special feature of her photography is that she is in air, above ground level. It seems that she is free of gravity. Given below is the detail how she makes it.

How to take "Today's Levitation" (how I actually do)
- Equipments and shutter speed
Camera body: Canon EOS 5D Mk2
Lenses: Canon EF50mm F1.2L USM, EF24-70mm F2.8L USM, PENTAX 67 lenses (with adaptors)
Tripods: Gitzo's rapid-pole 3 steps with ball heads (from 1980s)
Shutter speed: 1/500 sec. or faster (1/320 sec. can be used in a darker condition)

- With a self-timer
EOS 5D Mk2 has a 10sec. timer as it's longest timer set up. This means that I can get away as far as 10 second distance from the camera after I press the shutter release button.
First, I get a composition and a focus manually.
Then I press the shutter release, run to the right position for a levitation as checking the camera's blinking red LED counts down 10 seconds and jump by my intuition.
In this manner, I need to jump over and over to get the right shot.

- Ask someone to press the shutter release button
When I take my levitation farther away from the camera than 10 second distance, I ask someone (mostly my friend) to press the shutter release button. First, I ask my friend to be a stand-in in a proper position to get a composition and a focus.
Then I go to the position to levitate, and my friend come to the camera (we switch our position) to press a shutter release button in time with my jumps.
