Do I Need It ?

With the eruption of social media and exposure of a complete generation to this aspect, there are a few serious consequences which every one of us is facing. These consequences include poor time management, false stress, tension and some medical issues like headache etc which i mentioned in visual pollution.
Now the question remains like what should be the steps involved to cater for these issues.
As per my apprehension, I have devised certain principles to have a balanced dose of all these factors to live a balanced life. These steps move around one single line i.e. "Do I Need It???".
Now what is this line?
1. Before starting any activity, just give it a one second. Stop by and think "Do I need it???". If the answer is no, stop there and then. If the answer is yes, give it another thought i.e. " How much I need this activity? ". Now analyse the need and come to time distribution of said activity.
Believe me, this line carries the potential to change the complete course of life.

Predictions of Nemat Ullah Shah Wali (Book Review)

Few days back, while searching some good read at our online office portal, I accidentally came across this book. Main content of this book has been written in Persian poetic form. Translations of this book in different languages are available including Urdu. The version I came across was translated by Mr Zaid Hamid.

Although I have much ideological conflicts with Zaid Hamid but still, the translation can be catagorized as good read.

Nemat Ullah Shah Wali was a pious man centuries before. He basically wrote a sort of Trans-Literature. I won't call his subject matter as prediction because of the reason that finality rests in the hands of Allah. Secondly what a saint can see is just a fair illusion of the happening but in actual scenario, these illusions are altered by Allah Almighty in the greater interest.

He starts from Mughal Empire and goes till the arrival of Jesus Christ. All events come up in an order of their happening. Most of the scenarios described in the couplets happened in reality but not all. Rise and fall of Mughals, British Government and then creation of Pakistan are the main events to be mentioned. Then he described the age of looting and hypocracy in Pakistan. In this era, he especially mentioned the role of hypocrate learned scholars.

He ended up the tale with the happening of Ghazva-e-Hind and arrival of Imam Mehdi followed by arrival of Jesus Christ. Qudrat Ullah Shahab also mentioned few of his predictions in his autobiography named Shahab Nama (شہاب نامہ). The point of writing this review is to spare some time for this book as well. Finality rests in the hands of Allah.

Evolution of Urdu Blogging in Pakistan! A New Blogging Horizon

Blogging is an excellent time pass, a productive activity, a positive motive, a passion and above all something which inspires me. I have been around blogging world for the last two years. So I am still in my infancy in this blogging world. But still I feel confident enough to share some thoughts, some views, some of my observations regarding blogging and its evolution in Pakistan.

With the introduction of Google Urdu Translator i.e translation of roman Urdu into Urdu alphabets by Google has almost revolutionized the Urdu blogging sphere in Pakistan. Bloggers had to use many difficult sort of input tools to write in Urdu while blogging. There had been a rapid increase in the Urdu bloggers and their readers in Pakistan and all over the world.

Urdu is our national language plus a language which can be understood in all Parts of Pakistan plus many parts of the world where Pakistani people are there. This is also spoken and understood by many other Asian countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and last but not the least India. So Urdu has served the purpose and at the verge of becoming one of the most widely spoken and understood languages of the world.

The bloggers and what they are writing in Urdu is simply superb. It,s worth reading rather worth appreciating. It can be compared with the stuff at blog sphere of the world at any grounds. I am writing this because I have been a regular reader of Urdu bloggers in Pakistan and all over the world. Most of the urdu bloggers can be found here i.e. URDU BLOGGERS AT FACEBOOK.

 The future of Urdu blogging seems quite bright. It is because the bloggers like me who do not blog at commercial grounds, seem quite anxious about Urdu blogging. The elders are required to lay the foundations which they have done quite effectively till now. Now its the time for the young blood to take over and carry forward this mission of Urdu Blogging.

Good luck and happy Urdu Blogging !!!

Redical Streams of Personality

I have been a bit social consultant for the last few years. This is just informal type of consultency when the object does not know that he/she is being guided by some one or he is getting some fresh air at psychological grounds. A problem which most of my objects have been found facing is the redical streams and over ambitiusness of the people who play the maximum role in the grroming of the personalities they have been made responsible for.

This is new era where the social concepts have been revolutionized by the rapid growth of inter human relations through social media and the latest technological advancements. The old concepts have been changed but few redical idealists have been applying their concepts on new generation especially parents. This is a bit awkward but still happening in our society. I mentioned it in the previous article Self Conviction vs Ambitiousness.

The basic needs of personality are education, firm ideological basis, and the affection from the personality responsible for grooming. The redicals think that they are the few having 100% right ideological basis and grooming in the way they are required to. But they forget the exposure the new generation is going to get, the psychological needs of new generation and versatility of the ideological sphere. This is dreastic when adolescent minds refuse to accept such ideas.

These problems persist and the end results are very drastic. Either the young minds get betrayed and find their destination in narcotics or atleast the device some ways to get the fresh air which is extremely unacceptable to their parents or elders. But no one bothers to pay attention and find the root cause of the problem. The blame always goes to the young generation because elders are by default right.

This is alarming when we are living in such a suffocated social sector. If you come across such case, do take a break and have a look at what you learnt and feom where, take a look at your past, and do not start blaming any one. Just be cool for a short period of time. Then change the way and location. The positivity would automatically start coming your way. Allah bless you all.

Fine Art of Blogging

The latest social networking revolution has toppled up the conventional  concepts and a new theory of social space is on the verge of evolution. This might be something strange for the social media addicts but very soon it would be quite evident that the congested social media would be unable to cope up with the ever expanding demands and expectations of social networks users. So what is going to be the next brink of this social media revolution???

The new concept of social networking is the Social Space concept. The social networking tycons like facebook, twitter, myspace etc are constanty introducing new apps. But the ever increasing vision of common user has started demanding for more space and freedon of thought.

So blogging tycons have introduced this concept of social space where users get a bit mature approach as compared to social networking tycons. Thus infant bloggers like me got new horizons to explore and tycons like S A J Shirazi got the reinsin their hands to mold the user demands and user opinion as per the new theory of social space.

A project initiated by S A J Shirazi to encourage the young bloggers and bring them on one platform which has been appreciated at all levels is Art of Blogging. According to it:

 "Internet is a lonely place without Blogging; a fine social art, science, also a pure economics. Blogs are different to different people. At my tech blog (sajshirazi.com – where I mostly talk of basics) I am starting a project titled Fine Art (and Science) of Blogging in order to introduce meaningful blogs to local bloggers and my students."

As I experienced it here as M Behzad Jhatial – a blogger with conviction, I think is something worth experiencing and got much more like exposure, experience, new horizons, art and passion for a blogger. As I mentioned earlier Why blogging matters to me, this is something which comes up next after it.

Is NUST Getting Down Day By Day?

Pakistan is becoming more and more education deficient country as the day passes. This is because the trust which students had in institution is being lost day by day. There are many factors adding to it like the violation trend on a drastic rise. Two days before, a student of Riphah University gunned down his vice principal etc. The entry tests of UET and NUST (two most prestigious engineering universities of Pakistan and ranked top in Pakistan ) were leaked out.

There are many factors adding to it but me being a NUST student would confine myself to the factors which are taking the ranking of university low day by day. These factors are explained below:

  1. The entry test trivia which left every student of NUST and all the candidates who had some dreams to have a chance of study in one of the best engineering institutions of Pakistan, shocked. The retest has been arranged and taken successfully but the trust and chance has been lost. Guys have taken admissions in other universities so they are hesitating to join NUST so late.
  2. When I talk about my time, I see the merit positions till 1000 getting admission. But now it ranges to 3000. This is good in a sense that more and more students get a chance to be here at NUST. But it adds to lowering the standards. In order to cope up with it, the faculty and NUST administration has to work much hard.
  3. NUST has to revise its fee policy. It is because when we compare it with UET and other national universities, we find it much expensive. Although there are few scholarships program but that is not enough as far as the student demand is concerned.
 These are a few lines which I feel NUST has to think on. Otherwise when it comes to bipolar society like elite and poor classes in Pakistan, NUST is confining it self to just one pole. But the talent exists at both poles. Good luck NUST and Allah bless Pakistan.

Laptops Distribution by Punjab Government and Future Prospects

I just got to know that so called Khadim-e-Aala Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif has announced that 100000 laptops would be distributed among the bright students of Punjab to ensure their study career going on latest techno social track. This is indeed a matter of great pleasure and pride for the whole Punjab and must be appreciated.

But I wanted to few things in this regard.

We are living in a bipolar society when it comes to distribution of wealth and classes. There are rich and there are poor. There are few who are passing through life, about rest life is passing through them. I mentioned this factor in earlier article i.e. Bipolar Society and Social Hoax in Pakistan. So we have to look at this project in these two contexts.

When I talk about the IT Labs project, it was started and installed in a smart way. But me being a member of lower class, get the chance to visit many government schools and the type of uncertainties there. Most of the remote areas of Punjab where people go to government schools, got no electricity. If they got electricity, load shedding never allows some one to have a chance to just read a newspaper. So no way for students to visit IT Labs and learn few basics about computer.

When I talk about these laptops, two things come to my mind.
  1. The elite or rich class does not allow their children to visit government schools. If some children of this class get a chance to study in government schools, they perform once in a blue moon. So this class is out of question for this project.
  2. When we talk about lower class, their children study in government schools but most of this class is living in areas where there is no electricity. If this facility is installed, it is not available. When ever I get a chance to visit my village, I am so astonished to see there is no light for about 10-15 hours per day. So if the students get the laptops, when will they use it and learn something? Plus there is no internet available in the areas where the government schools are there.
  3. Government has not announced any specific area. I suppose these would be distributed equally in all schools of Punjab. If it is done according to above supposition, most of these laptops should be distributed in southern Punjab where there is no light and internet available.
So what would happen finally?

  1. These laptops would be mostly P4 or Dual Core. If some elite class member gets it, he would seldom bother to use it. So immediately it would be sold.
  2. The lower class members would be getting most of these laptops as per program and purpose. But they would seldom dare to use it due to no light and techno social barriers in the minds of elders. Secondly economic factor would take them to the point where they would be obliged to sell these machines and earn few bucks for their food and shelter. So ultimately it  would be sold.
But overall i is a nice step by government and must be appreciated. Me being a member of lower class look at this project with a pride and wish some of these laptops coming to my village. It would be a techno revolution if this project is completed in a sincere way and the proper guidance is provided for it. Allah bless Pakistan.

Bipolar Society and Drastic Social Hoax in Pakistan is alarming

He is "Naveed Asif" from Nahranwali village Okara who scored 919 marks in matric and got second position in BISE Lahore. His school was 7 km away from his house he used to walk 7 km everyday to go to his school. Here are his words :

"I and my mother were really terrified when BISE Lahore team reached our home late at ni...ght before announcement of the result. You may think its ridiculous but I always said to my mother that I wanted to be like Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah," he said. "Quaid-e-Azam is a role model for me."

Unfortunately, all the seats were occupied during ceremony, besides, due to his ragged clothes and poverty, he wasn't given the seat to sit, and so he sat on the stairs.

Guys! The above given is the detail of this picture. When I looked at this picture, I could not stop my tears from rolling out of my tears. There is hell of things meshing up in my mind but I am unable to bring them in some order and then write here. Guys! this is Pakistan which is defined as "Islamic Republic of Pakistan"

Few days back, i got something astonishing to read. It was a quotation by BANO QUDSSIA who has been a marvelous writer. She writes in her novel RAJA GIDH about the social hoax. She says "all those who created Pakistan for an ideology are now a days in a desperate search of that ideology."

Who created Pakistan? Perhaps Quaid could give the best and correct answer. But what i know is about the common men who voted, prayed and helped few sincere leaders to bring this Muslim state into existence for an ideology. But sorry to say that ideology is no where now a days. At least i could not find it.

People like Asif who might have migrated from India or some rural area to the vicinity of some big city for their basic needs, ideology, better future and the revival of their integrity and self respect. But they did not know about out of frying pan into the fire.

The feudal lords disguised in 3piece suits are perhaps the destiny of this country. It is more than 60 years now since this country came into being. But this culture is same. Just faces change, but the social, cultural hoax remains the same. Perhaps some day we could make it better but does not seem changing.

I placed myself in dirty clothes, an ordinary chappal in my feet and sitting on the stairs of Alhamra hall holding the position certificate in my hands. I felt myself a waste. I achieved the best at my age and resources which no one with full resources and facilities could get, but it could not earn me a chair to sit on after i had been honored. I sank into the fake integrity and social injustice of this society which calls itself "Islamic Republic of Pakistan".

Here I would like to all to read a bit more on the role of blessed people and how our social life cycle is ruined in their absence.These are people like Naveed Asif. The article is "Blessed People: An argument to the existence of society."

Ishfaq Ahmed writes in his revolutionary book "ZAVIA" that we have to give back the social identity and integrity to such blessed people who do wonders in spite of having no resources and facilities. We have to acknowledge their intellect, quality and hard work. These are blessed people. If we do not give them back their self respect, their tears can engulf the whole society.

Science Group vs Arts Group : The pros & cons of latest trend in matriculation

When I was in Govt High School Kodiwal, Rangpur, most of the students used to opt the arts group when they had to make a selection between science group and arts group in matriculation. Most of the studious guys had a slight inspiration from science and the backbenchers like me had to go for arts group. I am talking of late 90s and start of twentieth century.

Position holders on Lahore board in matriculation.
I passed metric exam in 2004. It was an era when science group vs arts group were having almost equal votes. But yesterday result of matriculation was announced. One thing must be kept in mind that I am talking about the results, not the over all strength of both groups.

So today, while looking at he headlines I suddenly came to know that trend had taken 180 degree twist. For example, I am writing the figures of lahore board just to show how trend has shifted;

Total strength in science group = 96536
Passed = 73680
Percentage = 76.32%
Total Strength in arts group = 109475
Passed = 47297
Percentage = 43.20%

The huge difference between passing rate can be noted. One thing more, there is a bit difference between success rate and exam passing rate which has been more precisely explained here. But the thing is that our younger generation is much more scientific.

It is misconceived that being scientific means more and more materialistic. But people talking about materialism often forget about science and nature merge to make a true analytical mind to take precise decisions at critical social edges. So when we look at the latest trend in our younger generation, we must feel proud and expect more intelligent, analytical and better religious approached generation who is going to take the reigns of nation in its hands very soon.

This is how scientific approach is applied.
 Secondly, I would like to suggest to eradicate the difference between science and arts. Arts is basically the super superior form of science. One imagines, creates sculpture of that imagination and then scientist starts thinking on those lines defined by so called artist. This is how heavenly knowledge is transferred on earth. Alexander Fleming who discovered penicillin once said "Every scientist performs Raqs-e-Dervish" in his laboratory.  So what I suggest here is to merge these science and arts groups and create distributions like life sciences, social sciences etc. Candidate must be allowed to take the subjects according to his will but major subjects like math should be there till matriculation.

This can actually work in our society because I have observed it myself the analytical scientific approach in younger generation. Just look at a practical example as my father can not operate a simple mobile phone fully although he is matriculation passed. My nephew who is now studying in 3rd class, can fully operated the computer even once he installed windows at his own which I could do after taking more than three trials.

Keeping in mind the above approach, one can predict the bright future of Pakistan. Allah bless Pakistan.

Do we succeed or just pass the paper?

Today when i was sitting in the mess for lunch, i just looked at the lcd tv for news. The news which caught my attention was about the papers and results of the students. The success rate has been 87% was the news going on.

I stopped for a while and thought whether this percentage was successful or just passed the paper.

My memory flashed back to EINSTEIN who once siad that nobody failed in this world. Just all learnt according to their capability and will. So i thought we must mention the paper passing rate, not this success rate.

The Entry Test Cancellation Trivia of UETs and Poor Students of Pakistan

The poor students who had dreams of being the engineers and building new heights and nations, got their dreams shattered when they were just back from the entry test of UETs of Punjab. They administration announced that they had cancelled the test due to some avoidable circumstances. The more explanation was given as some parts of the question paper had been leaked.

They announced that few parts of the question paper had been leaked before the test date. These parts or the paper was sold in the black market of educationists of Pakistan in .1 million per paper. The bookies who were involved in the paper leakage felt the warmth of millions of rupees and poor dreams got shattered. The dark side still remains.

Almost 41000 students appeared in the entry test this year. The total money collected from the poor students is about 8.2 Million PKR. All the money, dreams, hard work, and reputation of universities as well as students got a huge setback. But just in print media, I was able ti find one article in the  name of poor students who had been waiting anxiously for their future defining steps.

UETs got the biggest engineering setup in Punjab and can be compared with any of the world top engineering universities of the world. Even I used to dream of it when I was in second year. But all of us know what happens in Pakistan. Pakistan is not such a bad place, there are few black sheep who are always in a way to find some thing negative and exploit it. Same thing happened here. Because UETs were torch bearers of engineering in Pakistan and were top engineering universities of Pakistan.

The need of the hour is to first define certain limitations for the students who have been affected like UET must take the test again on the old roll number slips and free of cost. All expenses should be paid by UET. Plus there should be proper investigation on this sad incident and black sheep must be taken to public where their fate to be decided.

For students, they should not feel depressed or tense. It happens but one has to keep faith in Allah and be confident. Because something one deserves, he surely gets that. So no need to worry about. Allah bless Pakistan.
